What is Magnetic Component?

Magnetic components are usually composed of windings and magnetic cores, which are necessary power electronic components for energy storage, energy conversion and ,electrical isolation, mainly including transformers and inductors. Almost all power circuits are inseparable from magnetic components, which are one of the most important components of power electronics.

Types Of Magnetic Components

Magnetic components can either be passive or active, depending on their role in the circuit. Passive components, such as inductors and transformers, store and transfer energy. Active components, such as magnetic sensors, change their magnetic field and produce an output signal. There are four common types of magnetic components: inductors, transformers, magnetic sensors, and magnetic shielding. Inductors often resemble coils of wire, and they store energy in a magnetic field when they are energized. Transformers, on the other hand, have two or more wire coils that link by a magnetic field and transfer energy between them. Magnetic sensors, including magnetometers and Hall effect devices, use the magnetic field to sense the presence of magnetic materials. Lastly, magnetic shielding components, such as ferrite beads, protect sensitive electronic devices from interference.
